Matthew Matt James is a North Carolina native born on 5 December 1991. Matthew Matt James is the son of Manny James as well as Patty James of mixed race. His mother is caucasian and his father is Nigerian. James graduated in 2010 of Sanderson High School. In 2015, he earned a Bachelor of Economics degree from Wake Forest University. James was initially known for his part as the reality show's Bachelorette's star. He was selected in 2020 to become the season's 25th bachelor on The Bachelor, becoming the first African American lead. The series premiered in 2021. James seemed to be the perfect choice to the job because He is attractive, well-rounded and tall and has a good sense of comedy. The series concluded when he chose Rachael Krkconnell as his choice to begin a relationship with her. He teamed up with the popular professional dancer Arnold in 2021 and competed in the 30th season of Dancing with the Stars. James and Arnold placed 12th on the show.
